Livin' The American Dream

Dictionary.com defines 'The American Dream' as 'a life of personal happiness and material comfort as traditionally sought by individuals in the U.S.' but what is the real American Dream ? Is it to have it all, the nice clothes and accessories, the fancy house and cars ? Or is it to just start a family, have a stable job, and live life happy and to the fullest ? I guess it varies for some people. But when one works hard enough, they can achieve the American Dream, whatever it may be for them. In the documentary A Class Divided, school teacher Jane Elliott separated her class into two groups, one labeled inferior, the other superior. The superior group performed better because that label gave them the courage, inspiration, and strength to excel and perform at their best compared to a group labeled inferior, who probably did felt inferior. Now put into perspective, would you perform to your full extent & abilities if you were labeled inferior ? Or would you not and feel brought and looked down upon ?
